There's a magical place in San Diego where you can stretch out a hand to feed a gentle giraffe, rub noses with an endangered rhino or look deep into the eyes of a California Condor. The San Diego Wild Animal Park, one of the few places on earth where rare and exotic species roam free.

Board the Wgasa Bush Railway for a 55-minute tour past herds of elephants, giraffe, zebra, and other endangered species. Trek through the Heart of Africa, a 32-acre safari adventure into the dense forests and grassy savannas of Africa.

Park attractions (included with admission)

The Wgasa Bush Line Railway: See the Wild Animal Park's vast field exhibits filled with herds of wild critters. This 5-mile (8-kilometer), 60-minute guided tour experience takes you to the remote Africa and Asia enclosures to see the animals as you've never seen them before. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, including all holidays.

Splash around in the Savanna Cool Zone.

Savanna Cool Zone: Walk through palm trees offering a gentle mist to three slippery critters that spout water: a turtle, a lion, and a crocodilian. Located next to Lion Camp, the Savanna Cool Zone is a wild way to cool off!

Get a bird's-eye view of the Park on the Balloon Safari.
Balloon Safari: Get a bird's-eye view of the entire Wild Animal Park on this unique airborne ride, modeled after the hot air balloon tours of the Serengeti. Located just west of Lion Camp, this quiet, tethered helium-filled balloon can carry up to 30 people and rises up to 400 feet (121 meters), giving riders a panoramic view of lions, rhinos, giraffes, wildebeest, and gazelle, as well as the beautiful San Pasqual Valley. Tickets for the Balloon Safari are available for $15 ($12 for members) at either the main entrance or at the balloon site. Balloon Safari operates daily, and each launch will last approximately 15 minutes.

Get eye to eye with some lofty critters on a Photo Caravan Safari Tour. Photo Caravan Safari Tours: Experience the safari of your life on one of our Photo Caravan Safari Tours. Safari trucks take you into the heart of our large field exhibits, where you get an up-close-and-personal look at the free-roaming animals of Africa and Asia. Don't forget to bring lots of film for some amazing photo opportunities. Cheetah Run Safari: Witness the world's fastest land mammal do what it does best�run! Cheetah Run Safari takes you to beautiful, rustic Cheetah Outpost to meet some African animals up close. Conservation Carousel: For kids and kids at heart, our colorful Conservation Carousel features 60 ride elements to choose from, many of which replicate rare and endangered animals. You can ride giraffes, rhinos, zebras, cheetahs, and more. Which will be your favorite? Give our carousel a spin! $2 per ride, or $5 for a wristband that allows you to ride all day ($4 for members).

ZooWerks/The Ride: DINO ISLAND II 3-D! Embark on a frantic race against time to rescue Tony, the last surviving T. rex, before a volcanic eruption destroys Dino Island. The simulator ride is available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with extended hours during summer. ZooWerks can be found next to the Park's Petting Kraal in Nairobi Village. Price for members is $5.50 for adults (12 and older) and $4.50 for children ages 3 to 11; nonmember price is $6 for adults (12 and older) and $5 for children ages 3 to 11. The ride is at the Park for a limited time.

The hotel addrees is importat so we pick you up from the correct hotel. Thanks. If your hotel is not on the list or you are not staying at a hotel we can pick you up at a hotel closest to your location.

If you can not provide the hotel name and address on the order form you will have to call the tour operator 24-48 hours prior to you tour departure to confirm a hotel location and pick up time. The Tour operator phone number will be on your tour confirmation email.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge for NO SHOWS. No Shows on tour dates are charged 100%. Some specific tours and activities have a higher cancellation fee due to the limited space available.
