The San Diego Coast has maybe the most perfect weather in the world! On our Sunset Coastal Balloon Flight Adventure, you will experience spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and coastal bluffs surrounding Del Mar.
You will see the lush setting of the estate homes of Rancho Santa Fe and glowing peaceful sunlight making for the perfect occasion celebration. View the mountains bordering the Borrego Desert to the east, and on an especially clear day, you may see the Coronado Islands to the south.
Champagne and Sparkling Cider will be served aloft by your pilot during your 40 minute to one hour balloon flight.

Del Mar is truly a gem on San Diego's north coast, located south of Los Angeles. The climate is ideal all year long, with the average temperature hovering between 65 and 78 degrees. The sunniest months are November through March; the warmest months are July through October. 

Within the Del Mar city limits, a quaint historical village dating back to the 1800s serves as a backdrop to a small seaside resort first made famous in the 1930s by racehorse aficionados form Hollywood. As an earlier example, Bing Crosby, who owned property in Rancho Santa Fe and had a stud barn for his thoroughbred horses, brought the Del Mar Turf Club into being.

In 1937 the track opened, with many Hollywood stars among the 15,000 attendees. Thanks to the fair and the race meet, the hotel was heavily booked and the demand for beachfront property was high. Jimmy Durante and Desi Arnaz, soon to be followed by other celebrities, purchased beachfront property lots. Known nationally for its premier race track and thoroughbred horse meet, and throughout California for the "San Diego County Fair", Del Mar is a place to relax, and enjoy life.

Our coastal flight offers a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and Coastal bluffs surrounding Del Mar. You will view the premier horse ranches located in Rancho Santa Fe, as well as the mountains bordering the Borrego desert to the east; on an especially clear day, you may see Coronado Island to the south. Champagne and sparkling cider will be served aloft or once you have landed.

Your Pilot, armed with years of safely maneuvering our balloons amid the winds and a mountain of information to share about your flight world below you, will gauge the wind direction and speed and pick the perfect launch site. Spacious vans will take you there and the dream realization begins.

Weather is obviously an important factor in ballooning. That is why we have mandatory phone calls prior to each flight, for that final weather confirmation. If we do have to cancel the flight because of weather conditions, of course, there is no charge to our passengers. We usually will be able to fly the following day, either Sunrise or Sunset Flights. It is highly recommended that you keep a couple of optional days in mind when making your balloon ride reservation, just in case there is a weather cancellation.

Information EVERY guest must know:
1. If any passenger is pregnant they may NOT fly -- we're sorry. Call us after the baby is born!
2. Meet 15 minutes before your flight check-in time.
3. Attire: Sweatshirt, Jacket (it is cool in the early morning & evening). Baseball cap or hat (recommended for passengers 6 feet or taller since the burners give off a lot of heat).
4. Cancellation: We must have 48 hours notice or there will be a 100% charge.
5. Inspired Temecula Valley Champagne is served on every flight -- complimentary.
6. We serve a complimentary gourmet continental breakfast in our Rose Garden after the morning Temecula Valley flight.
7. A "Flight Certificate" and photo of you and your balloon will be presented as a keepsake.
8. Every guest must be able to take two steps up into the basket and stand for an hour in the basket.

Del Mar Sunset Balloon Adventures

This tour must be booked at least 48 hours in advance of your travel date.

Your departure time is between 2:15PM - 5:30 PM, depending on the month of your reservation. Actual meeting time to be set by Balloon company.

Confirmation for this product will be received within 12-24 hours,subject to availability.

Recommended attire is casual outdoor active wear, and a jacket, sweatshirt or fleece pullover. Comfortable shoes are suggested (no high heels). Because the balloon burners radiate heat, we recommend that if you are over six feet tall that you wear a hat or a cap. In the cooler months you can bring some gloves to wear.

Gratuities and souvenirs are not included.
