Kayak to the Magnificent La Jolla Sea Caves

This is our most popular tour. If you can ride a bike you can kayak. We launch from La Jolla Shores and paddle to the La Jolla Sea Caves taking in the views and watching for the abundant wildlife. We always see numerous types of sea birds and usually sea lions, seals and sometimes dolphins. We then tour the fascinating kelp beds of the La Jolla Ecological Reserve and enjoy the surf zone on our way back.  We paddle stable, open-top - also called sit-on-top kayaks. No Experience is required.

Be prepared to get wet! We launch into waves from the end of our street. Meet at our La Jolla Shores shop, where you will check in, sign waivers, etc. We will outfit you with a lifejacket, paddle and wet suit if desired. After a brief paddle instruction and safety talk you will walk down to the end of the street with your guide.

Experience amazing views and abundant wildlife kayaking. No Experience Necessary. This is a guided, 2-hour kayak tour to the gorgeous La Jolla Sea Caves and through the fascinating marine paradise of the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. We often see seals, sea lions and sometimes dolphins. We end the tour with a wonderful ride through the gentle waves of La Jolla Shores - such a blast!

January - December: Daily at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm

What is Provided:

Kayaks, paddle, life jacket, and guide. Wet suit rentals are offered during fall, winter and spring.

What to Bring:

Expect to get wet. Bring: shoes that can get wet (Tevas, tennis shoes, 'river shoes' or flip flops), bathing suit and or drip dry shorts/shirt, hat, sun screen. Bring (or buy from us) a 'leash' for valuable glasses. You can leave a towel and dry clothes at our shop or in your vehicle. Please DO NOT bring valuables and things that cannot get wet: cell phones, pagers, car keys, non-waterproof watches, non-waterproof cameras.

Parking: Free parking is available on the side streets.

Your credit card will be charged the total amount of products and services selected at the time of booking. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover Cards.

Confirmation & Travel Voucher:

This tour must be booked at least 24hrs in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12-24 hours subject to availability. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to your E-Ticket Voucher. Print this voucher on and present SIGNED voucher at departure location. Only one voucher will be created per tour or activity for all travelers.

Cancellation and No Show Policy:

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge 100% for No Shows. If the tour is cancelled by the tour operator, the full ticket price will be refunded.

Supplier and Tourcorp assume no responsibility for delays caused by accidents, breakdown, weather, conditions of trails, roads, bays, oceans, rivers, airspace and any other conditions beyond control of Supplier, in addition to insufficient numbers of passengers.

Comfortable shoes, extra layer of warm clothing, hats, visors and sunglasses. Weather: Tour route or activity may be changed depending on local weather conditions. Gratuities and Souvenirs are not included.
